When you consider ultrasound scans there are no major risk factors. However, a rise in temperature is witnessed in every ultrasound scan. This is because when sound waves travel through a medium there is a vibration of particles that generates heat. However, it is not life threatening for the fetus.

3D Scans generate more heat than the 2D ones as more pictures are taken at different angles. 4D scans are still worse. Still, they generate so little heat it is absorbed easily by the liquid that is found around the baby. According to medical advice an increase of 1.5 degrees Celsius is harmless for a baby.

The benefits offered by the 3D and 4D scans far outweigh the ill effects brought about by the increase of temperature. Therefore, you never need to worry on exposing your baby to these high quality scans. There is no evidence that proves any harm done to a baby by even 4D scans.
